Howto install Zimbra Collaboration 8 On CentOS 7

1. About Zimbra :

Zimbra Collaboration Suite (ZCS) is a collaborative software suite, that includes an email server and web client.
Zimbra is a collaboration suite which combines email, calendar, and address books(contacts) within a single web based application
Zimbra will allow synchronization email, calendar, and address books many with mobile devices and PDAs
This article explains how to install Zimbra Collaboration Suite 7 on CentOS 7 (64Bit).

2. Some Prerequisites :

The minimum system requirements for Zimbra are pretty high and will require a large droplet to be created. The system requirements are:

  • A CPU of 1.5GHz.
  • A minimum of 3GB or RAM (recommended 4GB RAM).
  • 5GB free space for software and logs.
  • Additional disk space for mail storage.

3. DNS and Hostname Settings :

First, we need to configure the DNS entry that is pointing to the server. In this case, we’re using the hostname zimbratest.example.com
Then, we need to configure the hostname in the Linux box.

without forgetting set the hostname to your server:

and type this command to set a hostname in /etc/hostname:

4.Install the required packages and libraries :

5. Download Zimbra Open Source Edition 8.6.0 :

First,create a folder and put in it file to download:

Issue the following command to download ZCS 8.6.0:

Using the following command you can extract the tar file, We downloaded in previous step

Go to extracted ZCS Open Source Edition :[

Now, we are going to install the ZCS package using the script
